“Art is important for children especially during their early development. Research shows that art activities develop brain capacity in early childhood; in other words, art is good brain food! Art engages children’s senses in open-ended play and develops cognitive, social-emotional and multi-sensory skills. As children progress into elementary school and beyond, art continues to provide opportunities for brain development, mastery, self esteem and creativity. ” by Anna Reyner
We provide lots of art and craft activities to allow our children to explore with different kinds of tools, to experiment with colors and to express their ideas.
After the field trip to aquarium, we extend our study to explore the sea creatures found in the aquarium and created an undersea world in the classroom.
While exploring the Amazon rainforest, we introduced the four layers of forest where different types of animals live. Children learned the names and habitats of animals and they worked together to create a jungle in the classroom.
